Who controls your data
The operating legal entity identified above controls personal data processed through the Mameada website, applications, creator tools, Premium services, Exclusive Groups, Meetup features and related support channels.
This policy is designed around Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), the EU General Data Protection Regulation where it applies, and applicable United States privacy and child-protection requirements. Local mandatory law may grant additional rights.
Information we process
- Account and profile information such as name, username, date of birth, email, confirmed country and state or region of origin, avatar, biography and preferences.
- Content and communications such as uploads, thumbnails, comments, reactions, messages, reports, appeals and support correspondence.
- Creator, identity, age and consent verification records when required for monetization, Meetup access, sensitive content or performer recordkeeping.
- Commerce information such as plan, transaction reference, currency, entitlement, payout and ledger records. Full payment-card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by Mameada unless expressly stated.
- Technical and activity information such as IP address, device/browser data, security events, cookies, searches, watch history and interaction logs.
- If a user presses “Use my current location” during signup, the browser requests permission and sends rounded coordinates through Mameada to the Google Maps Geocoding API solely to suggest a country and state or region. Coordinates are not stored with the account, and Google’s response is not cached or stored; the user must confirm or change the suggested origin values before signup.
- A creator channel application may require separate current-location evidence. The applicant can use a fresh device fix or position a Google Maps pin, must confirm the displayed address, and is informed that the confirmed coordinates, capture method, Google place details and server confirmation time are stored with the application for fraud prevention and human review. This channel evidence is not used to overwrite the account’s user-confirmed country or region of origin.
- Inferences used for safety, fraud prevention, recommendations and content eligibility, subject to available controls and applicable law.
Purposes and legal bases
We use data to provide requested services, authenticate accounts, deliver and secure content, process purchases, maintain creator accounting, personalize eligible experiences, prevent abuse, enforce rules, respond to lawful requests and improve reliability.
Depending on the activity and jurisdiction, processing relies on performance of a contract, consent, compliance with legal obligations, protection of vital interests, or legitimate interests that are balanced against individual rights. Consent may be withdrawn where it is the legal basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Sensitive and age-related data
Mameada does not permit child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation of minors, grooming, or non-consensual intimate material. Sensitive-content controls are not permission to upload unlawful material.
The service is not directed to children under 13. Accounts require users to meet the minimum age in the Terms. Adult or sexually explicit areas, adult performer uploads, sensitive creator functions and related verification are restricted to persons aged 18 or older.
Age and identity evidence is access-restricted, stored separately from public profiles, retained only as required for safety, legal claims, financial integrity or performer-record obligations, and is not used for advertising.
Retention and security
Retention depends on the purpose: account data generally remains while the account is active; security and moderation evidence follows defined review periods; transaction, tax and payout records follow statutory obligations; and verified deletion requests remove or anonymize eligible data after any cooling-off period.
We apply role-limited access, private media storage, encryption or hashing where appropriate, session controls, audit trails, backups and incident procedures. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and regional rights
- Access, correct or update eligible account information.
- Request deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy where the applicable law provides that right.
- Withdraw consent and manage available history, recommendation, notification and privacy controls.
- Appeal an eligible automated or moderation decision and request human review where provided by law or platform policy.
- Complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission or the competent supervisory authority in your EU/EEA country.
Rights are not absolute. Mameada may retain limited information for legal obligations, fraud prevention, safety, payment disputes, 18 U.S.C. §§2257/2257A records, or the establishment and defence of legal claims.
Contact and policy changes
Privacy requests must be sent to the configured privacy email and should identify the account and request without attaching unnecessary identity documents. Mameada may verify the requester before acting.
Material policy changes will be dated and communicated through reasonable in-product, email or website notice. Continued use does not waive any consent requirement or mandatory legal right.
